Our Approach
Wavelength is a boutique tutoring agency providing personalized academic support for students from elementary school through college.
Founded by graduates of New York City private schools, we are personally familiar with the challenges and pressures facing students in these rigorous academic environments. Our Ivy-educated tutors approach every student with compassion, and focus not only on fostering academic excellence, but also on building the confidence and motivation required for long-term success.
Meet Our Tutors

Em Jager
I’m a tutor with a Master’s degree in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology from Columbia University and a background in science, education, and program management. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to teach and mentor students in many settings, from developing environmental education programs abroad to supporting learners here at home. Those experiences have taught me that every student learns differently, and that the right support can make all the difference.
In my tutoring, I focus on creating a welcoming space where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges. I break down tough concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations, while also helping students build confidence in their own abilities. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to give students tools they can carry forward into future classes and beyond.
